Challenges and plans: Increasing funding for adult education

In Serbia, Covid-19 had a lasting impact on ALE. The learning offer will remain hybrid, but League 33 believes that people don’t have sufficient proficiency in digital technologies and do not have access to digital learning activities. Moreover, funding for adult learning in Serbia has decreased since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Policy recommendations

League 33 has set up different goals to improve ALE in Serbia:

• Increase the education of adults and their prequalifications
• Increase employment
• Broaden the target group for ALE
• Implement EU standards in ALE.

League 33 would like to give the following policy recommendations to the Serbian government:

• Implementing resolutions, laws and recommendations of governmental institutions and NGOs dealing with ALE
• Adapt to EU standards
• Increasing funding for ALE.

Developments: NGOs working intensively to further adult education in Serbia
